The Dirty Secret About CoQ10
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a substance similar to a vitamin. It is found in every cell of the body. Your body makes CoQ10, and your cells use it to produce energy your body needs for cell growth and maintenance. It also functions as an antioxidant, which protects the body from damage caused by harmful molecules. CoQ10 is naturally present in small amounts in a wide variety of foods, but levels are particularly high in organ meats such as heart, liver, and kidney, as well as beef, soy oil, sardines, mackerel, and peanuts.
Coenzymes help enzymes work to digest food and perform other body processes, and they help protect the heart and skeletal muscles.
If you are taking a cholesterol-lowering statin drug such as Lipitor, Zocor, Crestor or Pravachol and want to maintain a vigorous, active lifestyle, then I have important news to share with you today.
When blood tests reveal high LDL cholesterol levels, doctors tend to reflexively reach for their prescription pad for the “quick-fix” mainstream medicine solution — statin drugs.
And while it is true that in many cases, these statins produce lower LDL cholesterol readings, many experts now agree that they may actually do more harm than good. Statins come with a long list of side effects that range from annoying to debilitating, yet unfortunately, too many doctors never even mention these dangers.
This list of side effects includes:
Muscle pain and weakness
Memory loss and confusion
Liver and kidney problems
Nausea and vomiting
Permanent nerve damage
Diarrhea and constipation
Increased risk of type 2 diabetes
But you are much more likely to be impacted by a hidden danger that is not detailed on the warning label. And your doctor, in his or her rush to see the next patient, may have simply neglected to warn you.
CoQ10 can boost your energy, mood and brain power, while providing powerful support for your heart.
As a former Paramedic , my passion for natural health always drives me to seek the truth and to educate people on alternative health solutions that are safe and effective.
Statins Deplete a Vital Nutrient Your Body Needs
It is widely known that statins severely deplete your body’s natural levels of CoEnzyme Q10 (CoQ10), which is very dangerous. A Columbia University study found that within 30 days, your levels of CoQ10 can be decreased by half.
Not only does CoQ10 help your heart, it boosts cellular energy throughout your entire body and fights fatigue. In addition, CoQ10 helps to reduce muscle pain and weakness, which are the most commonly reported side effects of cholesterol-lowering drugs.
CoQ10 Is Fuel for Your Heart
Your heart, which beats about 100,000 times a day to get its job done, is fueled by CoQ10 which is why so many studies have shown that it confers powerful protection for your entire cardiovascular system. When your heart has the high levels of CoQ10 it needs, it works like a charm. But when levels get low, your heart strains to do its job, and ultimately your entire body suffers. Suboptimal heart function can result in the “mystery symptoms” that so many of us experience as we get older such as fatigue, pain and decreases in mental functions. The fact is, if you have health problems that seemingly won’t go away, CoQ10 may be the natural solution you’ve been looking for.
By Age 50, Your CoQ10 Levels May Be Critically Low
According to leading experts on the cutting edge of natural health, it’s critical to supplement with CoQ10 as you age. After the age of 30, natural levels of CoQ10 begin to diminish. By the age of 50, your CoQ10 levels may be too low to support optimal heart function, and by age 70, your levels can become so low they can actually accelerate aging. Age aside, further loss of CoQ10 may be caused by stress, illness or the use of statins or other medications.
In fact, the very WORST culprit is statin drugs. It’s now estimated that 1 in 3 adults over 50 take a statin.
That’s right — statins literally suck the CoQ10 right out of your body. Meanwhile, few doctors warn patients that by taking a statin to “help” their heart, they are in fact slowly draining it of the very fuel it needs for optimal health! This is a crying shame in my opinion, since so many people’s hearts are needlessly being jeopardized at the hands of their own doctors.
CoQ10 and Cancer
In 1961, scientists saw that people with cancer had little CoQ10 in their blood. They found low CoQ10 blood levels in people with myeloma, lymphoma, and cancers of the breast, lung, prostate, pancreas, colon, kidney, and head and neck. Some research has suggested that CoQ10 helps the immune system and may be useful as a secondary treatment for cancer.
Why You Need the Right CoQ10 Right Now
I can tell you firsthand that once you start taking the right kind of CoQ10, you’ll know it without a doubt. You’ll experience massive boosts in your mood, energy and brainpower, profound relief from everyday aches and pains, better heart health — even better looking skin! The fact is, the majority of people over age 45 are critically deficient in CoQ10, so you really need to be taking an effective, highly absorbable CoQ10 supplement if you want to stay active and healthy as you age.
The Supplement Industry’s DIRTY Secret
You can find CoQ10 supplements virtually everywhere. And unfortunately, most people are tricked into thinking all CoQ10 is the same. But there’s a dirty little secret that they won’t tell you on the label. All of the research supporting the benefits of CoQ10 has been conducted with natural CoQ10.
—–>>>>> But most supplements are made with synthetic CoQ10!!
Worse yet, guess what synthetic CoQ10 is synthesized from? Believe it or not, tobacco leaves are the primary source! This synthetic junk is called the “cis” form, and there is absolutely no good data out there proving its effectiveness or safety. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to put anything in my body that’s used to make cigarettes.
You might be surprised, but 100% natural CoQ10, known as the “trans” form, is usually no more expensive then synthetic CoQ10 — you just need to know how to look for it.
How to “Read Between the Lines”
Discount brands, such as those found in drugstores or big box retailers, take advantage of labeling requirement loopholes, and do a great job to not only hide the source of their CoQ10, but since they are not monitored, the amount of product in each tablet may vary. Don’t fall victim to their cost-cutting.
According to Wikipedia: A 2004 laboratory analysis by ConsumerLab.comfound CoQ10 supplements on the market did not all contain the quantity identified on the product label. Amounts varied from “no detectable CoQ10” to 75% of stated dose up to a 75% excess. Tod Cooperman president of ConsumerLab.com stated, “When a patient can go from zero dose to 175% of dose just by switching brands, there is potential for a real problem
Don’t be scammed:
Look for the words Coenzyme Q10 or “trans-form” on the label. These forms are identical to the CoQ10 produced naturally within the body, and if you read all of the studies on CoQ10, reputable companies only use this type.
And if those are not listed check to see if the CoQ10 is made using a yeast fermentation, which yields by far the most effective form. This is a patented process used by only the most reputable, higher quality producers of CoQ10.
One problem with CoQ10 is that it’s not always well absorbed within the body. We suggest that you take your CoQ10 with a fatty meal.
Finally, make sure it says “Made in the USA” right on the bottle. Who needs CoQ10 bottled overseas in facilities of questionable integrity? It’s just not worth the risk.
Got Health Problems That Won’t Go Way?
CoQ10 May Be The Solution Your Doctor Overlooked
In hundreds of CoQ10 studies from around the world, and it’s been confirmed time and time again that CoQ10 is amazingly safe and well tolerated by the human body. There appears to be no toxicity whatsoever, even at very high levels, and it has virtually no side effects. Also, it doesn’t make you jittery or upset your stomach, and it doesn’t conflict with any other medications or supplements.
What it does do is nothing short of a health miracle:
Energizes your heart and keeps it pumping strong
Boosts brain power and provides mental clarity
Increases cellular energy and effectively combats fatigue
Fights off harmful free radicals that accumulate in your body
Helps to reduce wrinkles and protects skin from sun damage
Improves vision and keeps your eyes healthy
Promotes optimal gum and oral health
The CoQ10 That I Personally Recommend Is:
Made in the USA, all-natural proprietary blend of 100 mg of CoQ10 and contains 2 mg Resveratrol. In laboratory studies, resveratrol also has been shown to promote blood vessel relaxation.
The more relaxed blood vessels are, the wider they open to promote healthy blood flow.
